History

Founded in 1935 by Willie Fay Lewis, a blind woman sent to Fort Worth to “find a handful of blind people and see what she could do to help them,” the Lighthouse has grown over seven decades and now includes two major operations for the visually handicapped at its 80,000 square foot site located at 912 West Broadway and the Servmart store at The Naval Air Station/Joint Reserve Base.
