Employment Opportunities

The Lighthouse’s Industrial Division now employs 75 visually impaired individuals manufacturing products such as energy dissipation pads, computer paper, fast pack shipping containers, copy paper and ball-point pens under contract to federal and state governments. In addition, the Industrial Division operates the Servmart at the Naval Air Station-Joint Reserve Base where sight-impaired staff are employed as sales associates. Digital Data Scan employs people who digitally image paper documents for commercial business and government entities. The Industrial Division, including Servmart and Digital Data Scan, is largely self-sustaining through revenue from sales of products and services and provides sustained wage-earning employment to working-age blind individuals.
