How You Can Help
The Lighthouse for the Blind of Fort Worth plays a vital and significant role in providing blind or visually impaired people with renewed self-esteem and practical, essential training and work skills. This enables them to take their place in the mainstream of society, whether in a working environment or in other activities.
Learning a new way to do a familiar task, learning a new skill particularly tailored for the needs of a sight-impaired person are what our skilled and motivated staff at the Lighthouse do for the Blind. Through rehabilitation and job placement, we offer each individual with a visual impairment the opportunity to become a productive citizen, a person with a job in the business community or at the Lighthouse.
We continue to create an awareness of the capabilities for the Blind and help facilitate their acceptance by the general public. You can help with that mission.
In 1985 the Lighthouse established an Endowment Trust to receive charitable gifts and enhance long-range financial stability of the agency. The corpus remains intact and only income earned from that corpus is used to support community service programs of the Lighthouse.
The trust has grown through the years as we continue to serve more people with visual problems. You can help ensure growth of the trust and aid for the blind in the future by a contribution to the Endowment Trust.
