Our service area includes the following counties: Tarrant, Johnson, Hood, Parker, Wise and Denton. If you live in a county that is not listed, you can also contact us and we will be happy to direct you to the closest similar agency.

The Lighthouse does not do eye exams or sell eyeglasses.

We are happy to serve as a resource to anyone who has low vision or is considered legally blind. Our highly qualified staff will be happy to assist with any questions regarding any type of vision impairment.

The Lighthouse provides the majority of their services at little or no cost to individuals. We do accept donations.

The Lighthouse teaches independent living skills such as cooking and home management. We also teach braille, orientation & mobility, and technology skills, to name only a few. Please refer to our Client Services page for more information.

The Lighthouse does provide services for children and youth. Many of our youth services are done in collaboration with other organizations including but not limited to YMCA Camp Carter, North Texas Vision Coalition, AT&T Pioneers, DARS/DBS, and local school districts.

Adjusting to blindness is a process. The Lighthouse does offer a monthly support group led by a certified vision rehabilitation therapist. For more details, contact Client Services.

Yes we can. We do prefer that the request to us come directly from the individual who will benefit from our services.

The Lighthouse for the Blind of Fort Worth is located just south of downtown Fort Worth at 912 W. Broadway Avenue between Henderson and Hemphill. Our operating hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Although the Lighthouse would like to provide transportation services, we are unable to do so at this time. Local resources you can contact are:
